Sudan Visa

Hi

I am planning to get Sudan visa in Cairo as it is less head ache - also reading that it is possible to get it in Aswan as well.

Does anyone have any recent information or experience of this? Please let me know

Many thanks
Melx

If you need a Sudanese letter of invitation, George at the Hotel Acropole (do a Google) in Khartoum can provide (also the absolute best place for overlanders and others to stay).

Safe travels, Sam.

If heading north get Egypt visa in Addis (3 days 690ETB-must have forex receipt) then Sudan transit 2 week visa ($91 +15ETB 2 Days)

Or try in Nairobi for Sudan tourist visa 30d? with letter of introduction from home country +/- 5 days?

If Heading south get Sudan tourist visa in Cairo need introduction letter from home embassy (1 day $100)

Is possible to get Ethiopian visas in Khartoum 2hr $20 (as of Dec 14)

Help! Sudan Embassy in USA (DC) closed?

I plan to enter Sudan from Egypt on my motorcycle.
I decided to get my Sudan visa in advance (not in Egypt) as I understand USA passport holders have the "pleasure" of a multi week wait.

But, it appears the Sudan Embassy in the US is currently closed. I tried calling a few times before I mailed my Visa application pack, but was only able to get a message in Arabic.

So, I went ahead and FedEx'd the pack to the embassy. There was a failure to deliver on both this Thursday & Friday (Business closed or unavailable).
So, I got a fellow HUBBr Schenkel to call. He said the message said that the department was out visiting the US (??). No other contact information or numbers are available.

Does anyone have any insight? Thoughts? Happen to live near the Embassy?

Thanks, Clark
