Sete (France) to Morocco ferry

Hi, I'll try again, as amazingly, nobody replied to my request for info on the Sete to Maroc ferry...I'm going with my 2cv van on the 4/5th March, but as yet there are no details of costs/times or any info that seem to be up to date on the internet.
I have read some horror stories about the standards on this route...anybody any real experience on it? thanks Tim

There's both Comarit & Comanav; high season the ferry is a bit of a nightmare but food's included, just bring your own drinks as they're not too cheap on board!

I have been with Comanav from Port Vendres which only operates during the summer ...

This time of year you can probably pick up a ticket at the port on arrival .. as long as you don't coincide with the school holidays!

Salut

Ferry from Sete are very expensive, services are awefull and they are always late (many hours often ). Many peoples now are taking ferry from Barcelone.
As your are french go to the site LeMarocen4x4 : LeMarocen4x4

They have negociated special prices.

Thanks, nobody seems positive towards this Sete Nador or Tangiers route, so I think I'll drive down to Algesiras instead....Tim
by the way, I am English but living in the Charente in France, thus the idea of using a ferry from France

If you live in France then go to a travel agent who will have all the prices etc for you. My travel agent is brilliant with the ferry info ... Comanav's website is always down

Cost far less than driving down to Algeciras!!! And a lot more comfortable!

I used the Sete/Tangier route a few times; although the last time was three years ago I found everything to be ok. If you're expecting European standards then you may be in for a shock..........but you are travelling to Maroc!!
I found the staff friendly, I ate in the canteen as opposed to the restaurant and the food was ok. My only advice is to think about the accommodation, I took the cheapest option here and spent 2 nights sharing a very small four berth cabin with others, one night there were five people in there.
If you can get to Algeciras quickly and cheaply take that option, or if you're looking to save fuel and mileage on your vehicle take the boat......

Thanks everybody, I dont think the costs are much different between driving to South Spain and taking the ferry, and the timescale is about equal too, its a day to Sete or the Spanish border for me then 2 days either driving or sitting on a boat....I may drive, after all I have a 2cv van! Tim
