senegal to maritania - border crossing

Hye,

I'm in Saint Louis, trying to figure out where to cross to avoid hassle at the border between senegal and maritania.
I've heard about rosso as a very bad one for vehicules owners, and also the other one maka diama, but I'm not sure about the road between there and Rosso; as I've heard it's very sandy, and from some one else, it was a nice laterite (red track not to much stones) road...??? It's quiet important to me to know for the sand as I'm on a basic moped 49cc, and sand is not my favorite...

I'm also wondering for nouakchoitt nouadibou, ,I know the road is alsmost finishe, and should be fine for me as people do iyt on cycles, but I want to know about water refilling and petrol is it possible on the way? any advise about food supllie, place to sleep, or anyplace to get lunch or else alng this new road? I've head about such places , but not really sure.

Thanks for your help,
vince
