Secure Parking Marrakesh?

I shall be visiting Marrakesh to see some sights and do some shopping (no overnight stay).

Having read some post's I am concerned about the security of my vehicle whilst visiting Marrakesh.

Is there secure parking? any advice appreciated.

The last two times I've visited Marrakech I've stayed in Hotel Ali on the edge of Djemma El Fna which is in the pedestrian precinct. Bikes are allowed in the precinct, so I just park up outside the hotel, lock the bike and walk away.

If it worries you, find somewhere with a 'guardian' who will probably want 50 dh to look after your vehicle but shouldn't be paid more than 10.

Can't remember the road names but........From Djemma El Fna follow the pedestrian precinct were the horse carriages are. Cross road towards petrol station where there is a car park with Bar and booth right next to. Park as near to booth as you can and get chap to watch over the vehicle. Used it dozens of time with no problem.

I've been to Marrakech about 2 weeks ago. We stayed in the Ibis hotel next to the station. There is a little parking lot at the side where you can park and ask the security guy to watch over it for a couple of dirhams. The first thing that struck me of the general area around the Ibis, is that it was free of people hassling you and no people to come and touch your bikes. So I guess that the private security company is doing a good job...

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
