Route M3 by mountain bike
 

Just completed route M3 by mountain bike over three and a half days. Its now sealed all the way down to km 80.6. From there its piste until about km 102 where they are busy sealing. Its sealed down to Akka Irhen, km 115 and then its piste all the way to km201. Piste looks like its been redone from about km 175 all the way to Alougoum. To find the piste after Nisala to Foum Zguid you now have to actually turn off the main piste to the right after Nisala and go through a palmerie.

Still a great trip even though some of its sealed and fine with a mountain bike. Only carried 3 litres of water at a time. Excellent route description.

Met two Belgian guys on the road too who had just done Route M5 over six days with mountain bikes, carrying 10 water bottles each.

Thanks for the update Fin - what are these Moroccans playing at? Don't they know we are running out of places and pistes!!
M3 would be a great run on a bike, M5 a bit more or a slog i reckon. We're off in Feb to scrape together what's left for edition II.
