recordings from the sahara

7 months now in the "desert"*, from w. mauritania to timbouctou, been recording musicians and anyone else who stumbles into my path. always looking for collaborators, ideas, advice, and willing to offer travel advice, as i spend plenty of time on pistes with public transport.

Have you read 'Dairy of a Teddy Boy' by Mim Scalla? He did something similar in Morocco with the Gnaoua back in the 70's.
