plane ticket

Is it better to find one way ticket from Dakar in Europe or you can find good price also in Dakar. I saw prices for about min.550euro. Is this normal, becouse two way costs about 500euro?

It's normal that a one way ticket is more expensive than a two way. Even airline employees tell you to buy two way tickets although you want to fly only one way. Just make shure you book "the right direction", your ticket might beeing canceled if you're not on the first flight.

One way ticket is (almost)always cheaper then return (but it's not half the price). Normaly it's better NOT to buy the ticket in "third" country.
And now something personaly:
ce vam ni odvec mi posljite mail (marko.petric@XXX - namesto xxx napisite siol.net) - tudi jaz (in se nekaj prijateljev) planiramo podobno pot-pa bi si lahko izmenjali kaksno izkusnjo

6There are several travel agencies and airlines offering tickets in Dakar for less than 200,000CFA about 300 Euros. Try Air Algerie or Dakar Voyages both are on or near Place d'Indepandence. These prices exist all the year round.

Having worked in the travel industry for 10+ years I can confirm that the advice about buying a return ticket is correct. You cannot use a ticket out of sequence - ie: forego the Europe to Dakar coupon and utilise the return Dakar to Europe coupon.

You will not buy the best Dakar to Europe fare outside Dakar. You will always get the best one way fare when buying in the country of origin. So get in touch with a travel agent in the country of origin. Also look at indirect services - direct flights are not always the cheapest. I once found the cheapest fare from Cairo to London was via Bucharest....

Just purchased 3 o/w tickets Dakar - Paris at Nouvelles Frontieres, a large French company, 3 Bld De La Republique, Dakar. Tel: 823 3434 Fx: 822 2817.

Cost: CFA 214 000 (appox' E$326) If purchased 2 weeks earlier, cost CFA 207 000.

Have dealt with them before & they were reliable.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
