nissan kingcab and book

hello,

two questions in one message. First i would like to know if nissan kingcab is a good candidate 4X4 for desert track (south marocco) ?
Second i would like to know if someone know the GANDINI book (4 volumes in french) about the marocco track (with gps point) and what you think about it ?

re the Nissan kingcab - depends what you are comparing it against. Two wheel drive cars can do these tracks so anything with greater clearance / 4x4 is going to be more than capable. However if you are comparing it against the main two of Toyota Landcruiser / Landrover then its not going to rate as well. However if the Nissan is significantly cheaper or you already have it then it should be fine.

The landcruiser or Nissan patrol would be better choices as would a Landrover. These are more heavy duty, easier to get parts for, etc. The downside is you may have to pay more and landcruisers and Patrols aren't that prevalant in the Europe but there are some of them around.

hello,

i continue my prospecting about a patrol GR. I've called some people who selled patrol GR. For my budget i think it's possible to find a car from 1996 to 1998 with about 130000 km. It appears that it's more easy to find the short one 3 doors SLX with 2.8 TD engine. However it may be better to buy the long one (5 doors) for the sahara (more stable on track and more place for loading) isnt't it ? Is the short one ok for south marocco and mauritania ?

Either one will be fine but the extra load space may be useful and the longer wheel base will proabably sit better. Also long wheel base 4x4s traditionally sell better because there is more of a market second hand - people wanting a family car. This means you may have to pay more to get it but you should be able to sell it for more.
