I have read of people getting DRC in Brazzaville (PROVIDING you already have an Angolan or other onward one), see here (click "show original post"). Have also read (but not sure where) of Yaounde and Libreville. If I can find sources I'll quote them. Not that bothered about Oran v. Tunisia, in fact Oran may well be better re. ferries. But I do think its worth considering riding down to Djanet and heading west to Tam. I can't find my Sahara Overland at the mo, but I do seem to rememeber that the ride down is meant to be pretty special, as well as from Djanet (via Assekrem) to Tam. But guess that choice is far from urgent at mo. I think you'll find that would be Mr Scott's choice?? Ian |

Thanks Ian - I'll try for the Angolan one in Nigeria, but will probably get the DRC one here before leaving - you can specify entry date apparently. WIll PM you about entry into Africa. Also, have my SO right here, so will check routes and let you know what I think too. Also thought Djanet was a good call.
Will be in touch! Kobus

We managed to get our Nigeria visas in Lome last year. It was cheaper than the Nigerian High commission/Embassy in Accra which amounted to well over $700 US for the five of us. They even allowed us to collect them on a day when they are not normally open for passport collections as the previous day was a bank holiday. They required a typed (!) letter stating why we hadn't applied for visas in our home countries. In Lome you could pay in CFA, in Accra they insisted on US dollars...

Thanks micha. Good job you were away at the time, might have had some difficulty getting a "typed" letter in UK!
