They did it for big fly-in groups during the eclipse but I think that was a special case (and a chance for a little direct taxation).
See: http://www.sahara-overland.com/country/niger.htm
for consulates in Europe if there isnt one in Madrid. I can recommend the visa agency in Brux and NL on the .../mali.htm page. They can do Niger too.

If you are already in Africa, in a country without Niger embassy, you can go to a French consulate or embassy. They usually handle applications and deliver visas on the spot for french-speaking african countries that don't have the means to keep representations everywhere.

Thanks a lof for your Info !

A few people had stated in another forum that you can get the Visa at the airport indeed. Apparently is normal procedure that they keep your passport , and then in next day in Niamey , you get the visa , and get your passport back at the airport .20.000 CFAS .

This is my only option , as I am now in Sydney ! , and fliying directly to Niamey (via SouthAfrica ) so , for me would be impossible to get that visa in Paris.

Thanks a lot .

Javier

>> and then in next day in Niamey , you get the visa

actually, this sounds plausible in Niamey - I was thinking of Agadez, where it is less so.

Visa Niger at border Mali

Thanks a lof for your Info !

I guess it was you Javier who mentioned in another thread that EU citizins can get a Niger visa at the border (in my case with Mali). This is important for me as i will travel to these countries later this year.
Is this common policy or non official policy (goodwillingness ha,ha, i mean pay a little money) to get a visa. I ask you this as there is no info on the web (I googled thorough!) that confirm what you where saying. How did you get this info?

HI !!!

Last May , I got my Niger Visa in the Burkina/Niger border. It wasnt something up to the officers . The prices were on a permanent board , they had a machine which printed the visa-stickers , and then they stick that visa to your passport . No "up to them" . It was a office issuing Visas .

however , That was in the Burkina->Niger Border . But I met someone in Niamey riding a push-bike entered Niger via Mali and got his visa also on the border . I think I can find his web if that's really needed (He is sort of a long-distance biker recordman )

At worst possible scenario , go to Burkina (where you can get your visa also on the border 10000 CFA ) and enter Niger via Ouaga .

The information about visas in the Niamey Airport was coming from my forum www.ViajesYAventuras.com (mostly the same as this one but in Spanish ) .

Have a nice day
