Niger to Algeria in March
I'm in West Africa right now and I'm planning to head north from Niger to Algeria via the Hoggar route from Agadez to Tamanrasset sometime in March. Does anyone have recent info about the border crossing? It seems to be open at the moment. Can anyone confirm this?
I don't have transport myself so I might have to join tours on both sides of the border. I'm very interested to share costs if anyone is planning to do the same route. Not surprisingly in Niger I would like to visit the Tenere desert and Air mountains; in Algeria the Hoggar plateau and Tassili N'Ajjer. If someone has a spare seat, tips or info on the above mentioned route I would be very grateful. Thanks for your help! Joop (bekpekker@hotmail.com).
