Niger: route Bilma-Nguigmi
In dec 2001-jan 2002 I plan a trip with 3 Toyota 4WD from Tunis via Tripoli to Ndjamena(Chad). Can anyone advise me over the route especialy about the trip from Bilma to Nuigmi in NIGER.

I have not done this route but from what I know from people who have I advise you to find another way - any other way unless you are very experienced in desert driving, esp dunes. The problem is worse doing it north-south because you do the most difficult bit (and it is very difficult, lots of zig zags and fuel) - up and down the dunes of the Grand Erg du Bilma with maximum fuel load - the other direction is less hard, but this is not a piste, despite the line on the 953. Others I know have made the same mistake and turned back from Bilma.
