New ferry Egypt to Greece ??? True or not
 

We are on our way by car from the Cape to the Netherlands and would not mind crossing the medeteranian from Egypt to Greece. Now we heard from somebody that since a months or 2 there is a new (or reinstated) ferry between Egypt (Alexandria?) and Greece (Pireaus?). We cant find it on the internet. Does anybody know about this? If it is correct, where can we find info on the ferry company (telephone, website?)

Hello,I made some research on internet myself and I found something interesting.Apparently seems that there are services again from Cyprus to Egypt and viceversa.On egypttourism.org,an official site there is a page on ferry with an agency phone and fax number wich also report 3 other ferry(Sudan,Jordan).
Then I found on louiscruises.com a very short cruise return 2-3 days Limassol(Cyprus)to Port Said(Egypt),the cheapest cabin fare(all inclusive)about Euro 186 return,altough on terms and conditions seems possible(at least is not prohibited) make only one way,although,bad news for you on bike/car it looks suitable only for foot passenger.From Cyprus to Turkey there are ferries but I don't know if they run all the year or only summer.It looks like a quite good progress since regular ferry service Greece-Turkey-Cyprus-Egypt were "temporarily"suspended by Salamis Line early 2002.
