Motorbike tyres Mauritania/Mali

Hi there,

I am planning a long trip around Morocco, Mauritania, Mali and back to UK.
I will need to change tyres half way through my trip, probably in Mauritania.
Are you aware of any possible site where to buy tyres for my KTM 990?:scooter:

Thanks

Nic

get them in Casablanca

You may need to carry spares with you, they're not easy to get elsewhere in Morocco or Mauritania. We got from Honda Moto Plus SA in Casablanca.

GPS:
N33°35.03
W07°36.83

We asked for a Pirelli MT21 for Suzuki DR rear and they had one in stock.

tires

Hi, in 2007 I drove a 660 Tenere from Milano to Marocco, Mauri, Mali, Niger, Algerie, Tunis, back to Italy and up to Norway. I carried a spare back tire with me, and had it changed in Agadez, Niger.

Wouldnt count on finding tires along the route.

Out of curiosity I looked around in Bamako, Mali for 17" rears and 21" fronts. There's a large moto section in the central market, and about 2 squillion little bikes in the city. I didn't see any 17" or 21" tires but I was assured by several shop owners that they could be had.

Frankly I would have been surprised if any 17" 18" or 21" tires (new) were in Bamako. Don't count on finding anything in Mauritania. Not many bikes in that country.

Safest bet is to carry spares. Alternatively you could arrange shipment via DHL from Europe though that would be a little pricey.
