Djanet

Hey Guys

Im returing to Algeria very soon to run a short tour in Djanet.

Anyway, does anyone have any clue why there are nearly no options to fly to Djanet from Algiers ? I see Air Algerie have a slick new website but its giving me no available options for Alg-Djanet flights and also Alg-Tam.I tried dates in Oct / Nov / Dec / Jan 2011 but nothing.I also emailed head office, rang UK office to no avail whatsoever.Strange,as i have flown this route numerous times.Could they be sold out for Islamic holidays ?

Regards.

I've never managed to get a booking on the Air Algerie website either. The London Air Algerie office is very busy and hard to reach on the phone. Best bet is to call as soon as their office opens which is 9am I think. Assuming you haven't managed to get through to Air Algerie on the phone, simply contact a travel agent as they seem to be able to access a different booking system from the online Air Algerie site. This is what I did a few months ago when flying Algiers-Tam. They made a booking and emailed me the ticket.

Hi,
the search worked, I tried in October and found for example: AH6310 Algiers (ALG)
22:00 | Thu, 21-Oct-10 Djanet (DJG)
23:50 | Thu, 21-Oct-10

or
AH6292 Algiers (ALG)
22:00 | Sat, 30-Oct-10 Djanet (DJG)
23:50 | Sat, 30-Oct-10

But it seems that the schedules for November and later are not available on www yet.
I know several people who reserved via Internet and payed in Algeria a few days later.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
