Marocco>Algeria>Tunis - any suggestions?

Hi!
We, two latvians on two KTM Adventures 990, are now on 6 months long world-round trip. Today allready in Brasilia (Brazil).
Our web is apPasaule 2007, but most info is in our language. Pure information in English, Spanish and Russian you can find there too, not allways enaught time to actualize it. There are many pictures, if you see Gallery > apPasaule 2007 > _expedition pisctures and will be more...

If somebody have ideas about (see below), we will be happy to hear from you:
1) Shippment of bikes from Brazil (or Argentina) to Lisboa (Portugal) - we are working now to manage that next week.
2) Portugal>SouthSpain>Marocco>Algeria>Tunis>Italy>Au stria... - what to see, whom to visit and where to stay? (from 21.jan to 5.feb)
3) Who knows something about GARMIN maps for these regions. Probably somebody can share...

I'm sure you know this already, but the Morocco - Algeria border is closed, so you would have to go south around the Sahara to follow the route to Tunis and Italy.

BTW, are they planning to open this border in the near future (next 10 or 20 years)???

It seems that it has been closed for ages.
I think that this is not very helpful for the development of Morocco and Algeria, as there is no cross-border trading.

Hi
Untill the situation of the Occidental Sahara (South Morocco ) is not solved, the relationsship between Algeria et Morocco sould not be relinked.
Going south around sahara means Morocco Mauritanie Mali Algeria ( or Mali Niger Algeria )
North Niger is not secure now, Algeria you needs a guide. Currently in this area it's difficult to plan somethings things are changing every days.
It's became a true adventure.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
