Question MOROCCO- Boudnid to Merzouga. Gas Stations ?

Salam to you.

we'll do a small trip in Morocco and we're planning it.
And always the same questions emerged : where can we do a refill ?
- One of our stop will be Boudnib. is there a gas station here ?
- Another will be Merzouga. Same question.

Choukrane in advance.

Salut KKTOS
If you want a lot of informations about Marocco, and as I'm pretty sure you speak very well french I advise to get connected to the yahoo group, named ''le Maroc en 4x4''. They also like bike.
For my trip I planed at first to go to Boudnib. I have been told you can find gas in can at Boudnib.
Eric

You can get petrol in a little shop near the archway in Merzouga, it's about 200m inside the village (not on the "main road"). They sell it from plastic cans, the quality was ok. Not cheap.

Not shure about Boudnib but I guess shouldn't be a problem if you really need to.

Cheers, Jiri

There is a gas station in Erfoud, 50 km by road, north of Merzouga.

There is a very small gas station in Boudnib but they charge big money for petrol (1.5 eur/liter for leaded). We refilled in Errachidia and Rissani at normal Moroccan prices.

Demito is right. Just off the back of the main square, to the left, is a general store that has an old pump outside. If its open......you can buy various grades of fuel. The petrol comes from containers at the back of the building but it was the grade we asked for and it was relatively clean (certainly no water in it). BUT, it was expensive!

Having said that the pistes to the south of here heading to Merzouga are spectacular and relatively empty compared with the stuff to the south.

If you're on a bike, filling it with 15 litres wont break your bank, and if you're in a 4x4 then you can fill up elsewhere before arriving here.

All the best,

Travel Safe,

Dave

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
