Morocco (Anti Atlas) with a toddler - practicalities

Hello,

Planning a trip to Morocco in november by our by then 7 month old little daughter. We will be taking it easy, flying to Agadir and having a hire car ready at the airport. No piste driving, just a two week visit to the Anti-Atlas region. Got some questions:
_ concerning our little daughter who will be in the mixed fruit, vegetables and warmed milk culinary stadium, has anyone done this and some suggestions how to handle it?
_ any nice places to stay a few nights in the region between Agadir - Ouarzazate - Zagora - Tata - Tan Tan (no camping)?
_ any updates on sealed roads in this region that are not mentioned on the latest Michelin map?

7 month old shouldn’t present much of a problem. Milk I guess will be powdered and you should be able to take enough of your usual brand with you. If not you will have to buy it there which will be fine in bigger towns but possibly a different brand which may make your daughter baulk at its lack of familiarity.
Food wise, if you are moving around hotel to hotel, is more difficult. Jars /pots etc for convenience, which either you need to take of can stock up on at the large Marjane supermarket in Agadir (there is also one in Marrakesh). Similarly packets of powdered porridge and rice are quite easy to take.
Obviously whilst vegetables etc are everywhere, you might not be able to boil and mash if you are in hotels.
We spent many trips south of Agadir with hire cars from with our (now 5 year old) son when he was 6 months onwards. The usual apparatus of a thermos, travel kettle, and sterilizing bags & tabs did us OK.
There are plenty of excellent hotels and of course everyone will dote on your daughter!

any updates on sealed roads in this region that are not mentioned on the latest Michelin map?

What Mich calls a 'surfaced' road (white) can mean surfaced with tar, gravel or rocks (but all the paper maps were as bad, I found).

...Zagora - Tata - Tan Tan (no camping)?
If that is your route then you will need to come back up to Adgz, across and down to Foum Zguid to stay on the tar (a great road drive).

Also, the maps dont show it but Foum Hassan to Assa (and so to Fask, Guelmim etc) is all sealed and another great drive.

Hi Raf,

Stayed in both Tan Tan and Tata a few weeks back. The Hotel Sables D'Or in Tan Tan was very comfortable by Maroc standards. Friendly staff, clean, restaurant, and English speaking. Only downside was no bar! Not too pricey either!

In Tata I stayed at Hotel Renaissance .... very quiet the night I was there. Clean room, en suite, and a lovely terrace to enjoy your breakfast on. Unlike the Sables D'Or in Tan Tan, this one has a bar ...... I managed to cut a good deal on the room price with the people on reception .... figured being as it was so quiet the night I arrived, they'd be happy to fill a room ..... and they were, got it for 60% of their asking price! Mind you I spent plenty in the bar to make up for it.

I'd recommend both to you.

I stayed at the Hotel Oscars Ouarzazate just over a month ago good hotel near film studio just outside of town. I think it would be good for family very clean & quiet I payed 308dh for the night

In Ouzazzatte I stayed at the Bikershome a great place run by Peter who is Dutch and his Moroccan wife Zineb and their daughter who is now about 3 years old , it will give you a real flavour of living in Morrocco and the food is great , I am planning to take my young daughter next year when she will be about 18 months
