More questions on Mauritanian Visa.

To begin...
Thank you Mr.Scott for ur quick response on pm(and for the couple of books you wrote and adding weight to my panniers.....im joking!)anyway like suggested i did a bit of reserarce on the topic and still few thinks are not to clear!the only Place is Rabat.....fine!but from what i read from various treads the visas range from 30days to couple of months!so in any case my questions are:when the visa actually start?on the day of the issue or on the day you enter in Mauritania?becouse if they are valid on the day of the issue.....i think i got a problem!because cycling is a SLOW way of travel(plus carryng 70kg of panniers don't help)so if i get a 30days visa from the day of issue i cannot MAKE IT from Rabat to the Mauritanian border.......

Yes, you will have a problem on a bike if you pedal slowly but at present visa at the border is not issued so this is always the problem with slow bikes and it wont be the only time as you pedal across Africa.

My plans are to first do some cycling in Morocco then get the visa sorted and head straight down south which should not be a problem in 30days.

Helen Lloyd was a couple of days over her visa but got lucky, Peter Gostelow and a couple of others I've followed where on time too, its all down to the wind I guess.

The next question is of course whats in the 70kg

U certainly don't want to cycle north, which is even in a car painfully slow fighting against the wind

hi, just get a 2 months visa in rabat then and slowly get down to the border.
its 50eu for the 2 months visa...

yes, the info is very fresh as we applied for the visa 2,5 weeks ago. we're now in southern morocco and heading for mauri next week.
the price for 30 day visa is about 30 eu, 60 days cost you 50eu. yes, you will have to specify how long you want the visa to last and how many entries you'd wish.
you need 2 pictures, passport, 1 copy of pssport and the money in dirham, no euros accepted.

I guess having 60days to enter Mauritania from the day of the issued to me make A Big difference!it means i can travel at my own pace(slow...by the way)and not need doing "Killer"days,becouse you never know what kinds of days lays ahead.....windy,mountains,rains.....Desert...ecc!t hanks again for the important info & good luck for your travel.
