Monts Gautier , Algeria - worth a visit ?

Hi,

I am interested to visit the region of Monts Gautier in SE Algeria. It should be a spectacular landscape with small mountains and dunes.

Does anybody vistited this region?

Thanks for your advice and greetings from Austria

Christian

Hi Christian,

we have been there at last in January 2002.
There are much better places in the Tatrat, the Algerian Akakus, or around In Ebeggi.

I just came back from there and agree there are better Monts to be found, but there is a nice spot of 3 big mts WSW of Saviem 21 on the way to Killian. Let me know if you want the waypoint.

btw, there is a mystery item dropped in the first standing balise oil drum south of Saviem 21 (a few kms) - send a jpg and you can claim a fantastic prize!
