Hello Maurice,

the border between Galtat Zemmour and Bir Mogrein is closed. The only way to enter Mauretania is going down the Atlantik-route and enter Mauritania north of Nouadhibou at Guerguarat. Than passing the No-Mans-Land. Attention! Landmines.

More informations about the landmine-situation You will find here:

The first to postings are for You most interesting.

Hi Maurice.
I think I met you in the Gambia. Were you staying at Crocodile John's. Green Discovery?
How did you go on getting through the Senegal border. Did you have a carnet or like us offer a sweetner to the customs man.

Hi Maurice
We missed last year but are traveling down to Timbuctou and then maybe to The Gambia with a 200tdi Disco (which I have to convert to LHD) and another car. I may sell the Disco in The Gambia and fly home or drive back. No fixed plan yet. John hasn't got the place in Fajara any more but the new people have smartened the place up so I've heard. I flew over last November with my better half and stayed round the corner at Franciscos.
I will be setting off from UK on Jan 7th and picking Roger up in France where he lives now near Bordeaux probably in MC about 11th or 12th January.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
