mechanician in Morocco+Nouadhibou-Choum

Hi everybody
1)Does anyone knows a cheap and reliable car mechanician in Morocco?
2)I'd like also to have reports of the Nouadhibou-Choum route along the rails by people who've done it.
Cheers.
So long.

Nouadhibou - Choum,
The piste is fairly easy most of the way, BUT
There are areas where you cannot keep in a straight line and its soft sand - a 2wd would have to drive on the railway line.A 4wd will drag itself through but the engine will start to get hot
There is also a lot of debris from the railway line, which is half buried and covers a surprisingly large area. If you hit any of this you could damage tyres/track rods/diffs etc - which could be terminal.
On the plus side there is one area of dunes which is rather picturesque.

For the mechanic, ask for Mohammed in Cafe CTM in Boujdour. Very helpful.

Thanks so much Lamin & Ian for these infos. This Nouadhibou - Choum way looks pretty hazardous due to the debris, and in addition a convoy has to come out, isn’t it?
I'll drive a 2wd Nissan Bluebird diesel to Senegal. Is it still a good place for retail ? I heard that custom fees become dissuasive. What about Mauritania & Mali?

In Ait Meloul (near Tazzarine) there are supposed to be a lot of meccanics and rather cheap. Haven't been there myself, but read it somewhere. Anybody?
