Mauritania - Mali direct?
 

Hello...
Is this possible to pass directly from Mauritania to Mali using "public" transportation? Any suggestions or tips?

The two best places to try are Ayoun el Atros and Nema. Both are easy to reach from Nouakchott. Ask around at the taxi station but be prepared for a wait of a day or two. Look around for cars with Malian plates (they are black on white with the same style writing as the new german plates). Ask the locals before you go to the taxi station how much the fare is. You may only get a lift to Nioro or Nara and not direct to Bamako but from these places to Bamako it is very easy.
