MAURITANIA .

I have never seen so many people using mobile phones per head of population , as iv seen in Mauritania granted Im only talking about Nou and Nuac . People are always on obout selling cars in West Africa , maby there is a market for 10th generation mobile phones in Mauritania . Just an observation .

Hi!!! , good point ! ,I was also surprised about absolutelty everyone *apparently* using mobile phones in NDB /NCHK.
Also ,it appears that the whole city is on the mood of buying cars....from turists....

Later , I was told by a Mauritanian friend (???) , that -the sad truth is - that they DONT speak at all with their mobiles. They use them as a "status" icon , to show how suscessfull they are . They can not use , as it is absurdly expensive (in a country with an average salary of 20 -30 EUR /Month) and similar airtime prices that in Europe !.
Of course , they neither can afford a new handset (as they dont use airtime , contracts neither give fancy mobiles for free ) ... so they are alwaysz trying to buy our used ones -even if some of them are absolutely not -compatible at all !!!!.

ALSO I GOT CHATTING TO A MONEY CHANGER ON THE
FERRY TO BANJUL WHO SAID HE BUYS HIS EUROS IN NUACHO AS THEY ARE THE CHEAPEST IN THE REAGION .
