Mauretanian visa @ Mali

Hi,

Can anyone confirm that getting a Mauri visa at the border is also possible when entering from Mali? Any idea of the cost?

A quick answer will be much appreciated as we are now in Bamako ready to go. Visa can be obtained here but is very expensive.

Cheers!
Michiel.

I wouldn't risk it. Have only crossed from nara to nema, but had hassles each time ! Make sure that you get your passport stamped at abdelBegra (excuse the spelling - it's late). We were threatened with having to go back to there from nema last summer - got through, but it was a hassle

Is it possible? yes
But as with everything in Africa it is not because one person was able to do it ( 4 weeks ago) that you can rely on a smooth passage.
Cost was €12, a smile, firm handshake, a new biro and a big 'Merci Beaucoup' !

Bonne chance!
