Absolutely fantastic .... I would truly love to join in on the fun, but now I see the trip is postponed, I just need to find the cash….
However, please document the trip for our benefit… On a side note, my great uncle was a reconnaissance motorcycle rider with the QVR, due to a cock up, he and his regiment where sent to defend Calais (MAY ’40), they had no training on Urban warfare and the QVR took heavy casualties… Wounded, patched up and then marched to Holland, then train to POW camp in Germany… When he passed away I inherited his war diaries, I plan on retracing his route – which funny enough took him through the village where I now live in Belgium ….
