looking for libya gps tracks, sharing tunisia, middle east

I am looking for GPS tracks of Libya,
- most wanted Sahara Overland (Chris Scott)'s routes L1-L7,
very welcome others too, such as
- Reise Know How Gerhard Gottlers' Libyen (A1-A24),
- or any other (own).

Inputing everyting, even in the PC GPS software, is painstaking process.

I offer many Tunisian routes and tracks, including south Tunisia and routes from El Chott rallye, also on offer tracks from my this year's Middle East tour: Turkey, Iran, Syria, including tracks and cool (way)points of interests.

Reply here or email me at
noisedata at motosvet.com

(replace " at ") with @ sign of course

More than happy also with any link that would lead to tracks...

Thanx in advance,

Noise

PS: Tracks of libya will be on offer, ins'allah, at the end of february 06, when we return.

That sounds great. LDC---I am familiar with the organizers (they used to do El Chott couple of years ago).... I need to check our itinerary, but I'm sure our paths will cross somewhere, so we'll drop by

We'll be travelling with 1 toyota LC95, 1 toyota pickup (guide), 3 motorbikes (lc8, lc4, xtz660)...

Tracks: I'd be interested in whatever you have... though we'll be travelling mostly using sahara adventure routes, as we are first timers in Libya, taking it easy when travelling... ghadames-ghat, derj-idri, akakus, namus, lake-circle etc..

Pls contact me on my email to discuss it further regarding my tracks...

Best regs,

Noise

People I know will be taking part of the LDC rally as well... two teams in cars... Will tell them to say hi to you, and hopefully, we will meet in Libya anyway...

I've been in the Akakus this November - fantastic place.
This rally seems very tough though - seems to pick every spot of sand to be found! The Akakus has sand, but not only sand, which makes it so diverse and maginificent. Unfortunately I m-ss-d up my GPS and lost my tracks (not mentioning that one of our two bike's clutch gave up in the middle of it...). Oh well, just an excuse for me to go back and recreate the GPS points & tracks!
Note that in the Akakus you need a guide - which for us turned out great - drop the bags, get water and fuel carried, and the guide was a great cook too!
Enjoy it!

Karim - good luck!

The Italian magazine Sahara Itinerari & Passioni has been including GPS points and sat maps/images on CD since issue 1, usually related to the stories in each issue. (Ozi/Zulu/TTQV).
Issue 2 covered Libya and Niger and the current issue (5) has a half hour dvd of a 4x4 Libya trip with some great shots in the ergs and the Akakus.

These Libyan maps at CGSMapper are totally "out of sync"... haven't used them at all.. too bad...
However, I found that Tunisian ones are really really good!
