London->Tunisa 600 kms ??????

Hi all . While looking for new ferries conection to get me to Algeria , I found out that... "Transmediterranea Ferries"
( www.trasmediterranea.es )
fleets a two-a-week ferry from Valencia to Tunisia !!! at a really cheap price.

(Valencia is about 500 kms away from Bilbao (Highway) , which as you know , is ferry-connected to Portsmouth (UK) by P&O Ferries)

Therefore , that makes the absolute shorter route from UK to Tunisia/Algeria ,may be quicker ,and -IF you think about the French toll-roads avoided - definitely the cheapest ! .

another good way (i have done this on a bike cheaply) is to motorail from Paris to Nice, ride to genoa (close by)and get the ferry to tunis.

its also possible to motorail from Calais to Nice or Marseille, but this costs more cos its catered for uk holidaymakers.

any use?

Hi folks -

I looked into the option of the Valencia boat too, but when you come to book, it ain't that cheap, especially when you factor in the astronomical UK > Spain fares. For me, cheapest option was Portsmouth > Cherbourg then "N" roads down through France to Marseille. Only problem was that I got stung with the SNCM one-way tariff (unfair!).
