The israeli embassy in Nouakchott came under gunfire in the early hours this morning. News reports seem to give different numbers of attackers and injured but it did all only happen four hours ago.

It sounds like anti-jewish politics so it may not have too much of an effect on travellers but it's worth knowing about for anyone passing through.

I think it's anti-Israeli politics rather than 'anti-jewish', a bit like islam and fundamentalism.
