Invitation to visit Libya in Feb 2003

The Tour Companies state that a minimum of three people are required before an invitation to visit Libya is issued so that a visa may be obtained. I wish to travel independantly(two people)arriving at the border post Ras Adjir on approx 11th February 2003. Does anyone know of a group that we may join for the purpose of an invitation? Time is short to apply for the visa. Thanks

I am planning to enter Libya on or around the 14th March. Which may be too late for you, although there may be ways around that.

I have been in contact with Naziha at United Travel (0207 258 1413), their number was given to me by the Libyan Embassy.

They will organise the visa for you within a week, including a 'guide' at the border, but at a cost of £170.

I still have to get other visas as well, so in the interests of time and ease, I will be using them for my Libyan visa.

Whatever you decide, let me know how you get on.

We will be leaving the UK on about the 20th June, heading through Maroc, Algeria and Tunisia to Libya - there are 2 of us. Not sure about the exact entry date, but we also need to link up with someone....
