Hahleen Hahleen !

Last mid december a new modern domestic passengers terminal has been opened at Tripoli Int. Airport to imsupport the tourist traffic . Most of travel companies office’s and local airline’s desks has been allocated inside in order to provide direct assistance.
The updated time table includes several flights from Sebha /Ghat directly with quich connection with international flight mainly to EU (Milan, Paris, ecc) .
Cheers with Mirinda

Budrinna's answer is correct - I was in Tripoli last week (and in several other cities), and the new domestic terminal at Tripoli airport is a delight. It is fully up to the same standard you would expect from a domestic air terminal in Europe.

There are now quite a few private carriers operating domestic flights in Libya, in addition to Libyan Airways, the state carrier. Certainly there would be no problem finding flights on a daily basis to and from major cities.

One of the carriers (I can't recall the name, starts with a B) is using relatively late model DHC-8 (Dash-8) aircraft. One outfit has a DC-9 that is leased from South Africa. All in all, it's becoming a lot like Europe so far as low-cost domestic air travel is concerned.

B is for Buraq Airwyas

Gov's aim is to build by the end of the year other airports in four new desert areas to bost tourism assuring lower cost and time than reaching them by 4x4.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
