How long to get from spain to ghana?
 

We're planning a journey to Ghana to pick up some musicians and take them to play at the Festival au Desert in Mali in January 2006.

Does anyone have any idea how quickly we can make it from Spain to Accra via Morocco->Mauritania->Mali->Burkina Faso->Ghana??

My very rough conjecture was about three weeks to get to Accra and then a week to get back up to Timbuktu. Might we make it faster?

We're trying to figure out when we'd have to leave.

3 weeks sounds more enjoyable, but I bet you could do it in 10 days if you really wanted to go tearing through the continent. we did Cape Town to Dakar in 6 weeks to see if it was possible. while it can be fun to pit yourself against the clock in Africa, it was a shame to miss so much by racing through it.
