Hotels in Tripoli

Having stayed in the various "5 star" hotels, I was wondering if anyone knew of nicer, smaller, 'riad' style alternatives (in the Marrakech style). Budget not so much of an issue as a nice place to stay.

Anyone any ideas, or just a bit optimistic?

Sam.

The only modern hotel in Tripoli is the Corinthia Bab which is right opposite the Medina and the markets, etc. It is often booked well in advance. The others are varying quality and nothing like what you would find in Marrakech. Well nothing I have found anyway.

I usually stay in Guest Houses which are much more personal. However, the Corinthia is well placed for exploring on foot.

Question Bab Albaher

Dear All,

I have been told that the Hotel Bab Albaher is a good option (and is considerably cheaper than the Bab C). On the off-chance, does anyone have the gps coordinates for this hotel?!

I will post useful info on the hotel here once back in early April!

Sam.

NO need of GPS, Bab el Bahr and Bab el Medina hotels are behind the Bab el Africa Corintya. At Airport all infos about hotels form five starst to bellow zero stars.

Cheers

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
