Hi, my motor stopt running... I think the CDI is dead.

Does anyone has a tip? I want to order the piece in Europe and let it send to Laayoune. Were staying at the campsite of the two belgians near Laayoune.

Any good technicians in the neigberhood? Fastest way to order parts? UPS? DHL?...

Good experience with DHL: It seems they have the best knowledge how to handle "rare" locations, customs etc.

If you want tech help - your best off posting on the bike specfic forums. Note that most electircal failures (over 80%) are the contacts. Clean them (metho/white sprit, coleman fuel ... not petrol or WD40) and check the wire to connector too.

Your post was a few days ago, I hope all is now resolved .
A dead motor is what all travellers dread, at home or abroad...
I was in Layounne recently, what a place to breakdown...!
It would help a lot to know a few facts:
1) What is your motor? Diesel, 2-stroke, 4-stroke, petrol, rotary, jet, rocket…
2) What are the symptoms? Won’t start, runs rough, power loss, start-and-dies…
As Franck Warren says, (all the way from Sidney…) ‘most electrical faults are electrical’.
S-l-o-w failures, like COUGH, splutter, DIE, revive, COUGH… are usually fuel problems. Have you run out of fuel, is the filter blocked, have you air bubbles in the fuel lines, fuel pump on the blink?
F-a-s-t failures, like engine cut-out (on the crest-of-a-dune), or non-start syndrome, or similar are usually electrical faults. Check all connections and retry…
Sitting in our armchairs back home (I am just refitting after a trip to Libya) we could all give you a few suggestions, but please give us a few details first.
Meanwhile Layounne is worth knowing – the hospital does mainly amputations, a skill learned during the prolonged Western Sahara land-mine war.

Err no contacts - the places where the wires join to the boxes or sensors.

As I have suggested - do that in the specifice vehicle forum - the 'experts' in there may know your vehicle backwards. Keeps this one for shara stuff - like the Layounne specific info kitmax helpfully added.
