Great Man-made River
 

Doe somebody know where in the nord or southwest of Libya I can visit an interesting part of the Great Man-made River. I hear about interesting places near Sirte and Waddan. Are they still there? Other suggestions?

If you drive from Nalut to Derj you can currently see a brand new stretch being constructed. We were told this was to link the aquifers near Ghadames with Zuwara on the coast. There was a lot of activity when we went past last week, but it's a long way to Ghadames so you might see something interesting on this route if your going this season.
