From Morocco to Mauritania and back

Is it still illegal to go from Mauritania to Morocco? I am planning to enter Mauritania via Dakhla - Nouadibhou and I would like to take the same way back after some weeks of travelling in Mauritania. Is this currently possible?

Many thanks in advance for a quick reply!

Hi,In the german speaking www.sahara-info.ch there is the information that it is legal since beginning of the year 2000 and there has been several postings of tourists who did it without any problem. And you have to keep 2oooUM (maurit. money)with you to pay for the customs formalities.
