From Madrid to Tombuctu
 

Hi. After my trip across the USA and looking forward the next summer to go to Alaska, I´m craving right now for some more miles on my GS 1200. I´d like to ride from my home in Madrid to Tombuctu, in Mali. Did anyone ride this trip? Can anyone give me some practical information? Is thinking anyone about doing the same trip?

Hi Miguel, people do it all the time and in the right season it's no more difficult than getting to Prudhoe Bay.
The last few kms could be sandy and tough on your big bike - but it wouldn't be Timbuktu if it wasn't!
