export registration plate

i am keen on selling my car in Gambia. in order to export my car and sell it, I need a special registration plate. the thing is that I could only drive officially two weeks with this export registration plate. after that I should transport the car on a trailer (I am not allowed to drive it on the road after the official 2 weeks). I want to drive 5 weeks through Marocco, mauritania, Mali, Senegal and Gambia with my 2WD peugeot passenger car. any experiences on how to tackle this problem?:helpsmilie:

You've lost me on this Chapati; which export plates are you talking about?

If it's a German car on the export plates then I might be able to help ... if not could you enlighten us please ... or have I read your post all wrong?!

its a car registrated in the Netherlands. i have been told that i need to get an export stamp in the carpapers in order to sell it abroad (at the Dutch governmental service of roadtraffic RDW). I need to hand-over my normal registration plates and get a special export registration plates in return. I need then to export the car within 2 weeks. after two weeks the car will be removed from the register for the compulsory road tax and car insurance. that is also written in the carpapers with an expire date (so custom officers in the various countries could notice when the "expire" date is passed). its an official thing. perhaps there are measures to avoid this? Am I thinking too difficult or missing something perhaps?:confused1:

namaste chapati,

just make sure to enter marocco as long as the number plates are valid. after the entry, nobody will care if your export plates are still valid or not. from there on, only valid insurance is importent and will be checked sometimes by police and border customs.
