entering morocco

When leaving Spain with a motorcycle to enter Morocco, I presume that you are asked to show your bike registration documents, are you also asked for insurance?

My friend is considering not insuring his bike for our 24 hours in Spain. We would get insurance at the border for Morocco.

Please write if you know of a insurance company in Spain that will insure a non-resident foreigner travelling on a Spain registered bike. We will be buying the bike in Spain and then need to insure it ASAP, so I think the German ADAC cover won't work since they need 30 days...

I've never, ever been asked for any documentation when leaving Spain via Algerciras.

Rgds,
Nick.

If the bike is insured in UK then it is EC law that it is insured in all otther member states.

I was not asked for any docs when leaving spain but was when returning and of course needed insurance for entry to Marco

Regarding the insurance for entering Morocco, we can get that at the border in Morocco, right?

Scoobie

You can get insurance at the border point. It is an fairly straight forward. The overland handbook gives you a complete run down of the process. I followed it when I first went out there a couple of years ago and it was spot on.

Have a good trip
