the easiest way to get from mauri to mali goin' by 2wd

what is the easiest way to get from mauritania to mali if you go 2wd car (but after rain season)?
there are six roads:
- nema - nara (thru adel bagrou)
- timbedgha - nara (thru koumbi saleh)
- ayoun el atrous - nioro (thru agjert and kobenni)
- ayoun el atrous - nioro (thru foulani)
- tintane - nioro (thru touil)
- kiffa - kayes (thru kankossa)
i heard that the best one is that from nema to nara thru adel bagrou; would you like to tell me more about that??

I think nema nara or ayoun nioro, but never drove one of these routes, so it needs confirmation.

We have chosen Kiffa-Kayes recently. Not highly recommended for 2WD although passable. All the way a simple ground path with some rock crawling. Below you will find GPS points for the Kiffa-Kayes route, made on 09/12/2005 towards Kayes in LR.

According to my knowledge yesterday a Budapest-Bamako rally passed this route with several 2WD including odd Trabant.

As of last year there is a new paved road from Ayoun to Kobanni and I belive its still paved all the way into to Nioro. after that i'm not too sure though I was told that there was only 200km not paved bettween kobanni and Bamako. It was the best piece of asphalt I saw in that whole country and the Ayoun countryside is quite impressive after the flat endless Sahara.

think the kobanni route is your best bet by far.

I haven't travelled all the way in to Nioro though the first 30-40km past the border are paved. and even if its not paved you should be able to make to nioro. The local taxis are only two wheel drives (in horrible condition) and they drive the route all the time.
