Custom tax to enter in Egypt ?

I am currently traveling in Israel and planing to enter in Egypt

Is the Carnet de Passage still required?

Does anyone has who has crossed recently into Egypt from Israel can provide some information about custom or import taxes at the Egyptian border for foreign motorbikes?

Hi,

Well it was ****ing expensive and i will never do it again. The farry we had to take was US$100, the Visa as well. Dont want to think about the Agypt numberplates and the ensurance. Must have been another 100 US$ at least and then all the unfriendly police man who kept following us...better take the westcoast ;)
