Companion wanted for a trip to RIM.

One of the 3 guys had to cancel 3 weeks prior departure of a trip to Mauritania.

We'd like to find a very easygoing, not stiff, friendly, tranquil companion, driver to come with us. It has to be a person very respectful with Mauritanian culture.

Some Sahara experience and French knowledge welcome

We leave Barcelona, Spain July 1st and plan to be back around August 3rd

Approximate route: Barcelona- Algeciras, Tanger- South Morocco, Dackla, Aprox 3rd or 4th day arrive at Nouadibou , coast piste to Nouackchott, relax 2 days, Tidjikja, Tichitt, Oualata, drive south to Mali, if there is time, Nouackchott.... we shall see...

The most important thing is have a good time, no hurry in the pistes, easy driving. We got a prepared TLC 80 with all the essentials.

No business made, the 3rd person should pay about 450 eu in concept of preparation and expenses such as: oils, additives, extra parts, new oils, filters, some food etc... Should also have medical insurance. More expenses: about 650 each for diesel. We all have to carry extra cash for whatever.

We speak, English, Spanish and some French

Therefore we still have 1 seat available in the land cruiser

We leave Barcelona about July 1st and plan to be back in Spain about August 3rd

Please don't hesitate to ask us any questions concerning this trip to Mauritania.

between Xmas and New Year we will be in Oualata. Not sure if we will dare to go beyound Oulata to Tichit - alone. Did you drive alone or with a second bike/vehicle between Tidjekta, Tichit and Oualata. I will be driving my Landcruiser.

Hi Bart, from Oualata to Tichitt it there is a sandy climbing, not imposible with a healthy Toy. Do it alone ? really depends on the time of the year, in the hot season not or little traffic, in case of trouble can be kind of funky. Personally, I'd do it alone the second time, not the first. Anyway, if something goes really bad you can allways call the thuraya gendarmerie in Tichitt since they do drive that area about once a weekor so.
We drove together with an old LR series III from UK which because the over 45 degrees temperature was overheating every 10 minutes in soft sand.

It is a beautiful trip and easy to find nomads on the way

good luck

Hi Armadillo
we finally waited 3 days in Oualata and joined a group of 3. All went well, but indeed - it is not a trip to do alone when there for the first time.
