Choices Choices Choises in Routing
Please help me as I cant decide!
What option would you choose if YOU where me! I have got 8 month of time and thinking of the following route: 1 - Italy, Tunis, Algeria, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Etiopia and down OR 2 - Italy, Tunis, Libia, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and down! What option would you go for if money and time arent the biggest problem.... CU under the Cu Frank

Yup, Route one but...
It adds a little time and money, you could however descend to Djanet via Libya! I still rate the Akakus and Lake Gabroun areas as the best of their kind... Sam. |

Sam's suggestion sounds like the ultimate option to me. What about safety going from Tam/Djanet to Agadez though?
On his website, Chris clearly warns for the dangers of being robbed. |

First BIG trip to the dessert, and the firts trip through africa on a XT600Z. I ve travvel alot in the southernparts of africa, but I have this feeling the Sahara is slightly different form that ![]() Hope on same info from you all, and by the way who's going to the meeting in England 12-14 of July? To clarify, as events for the last two winters have shown, the dangers of robbery are in the Djado area and in the Air, not the main Tam Agadez route which is recommended for a first timer.
Even then, Djanet-Agadez can be done by avoiding the piste, see: http://www.adventure-motorcycling.com/riders (click Route) Chris S |
