Waypoints Hotel Panorama Morocco

Hi,

We are going to try to pick up a stage of the Lisbao-Dakar near Erg Chebbi, Morocco, (stage Errachidia - Ouarzazate). Has anybody waypoints of this stage (we only have the roadbook :-), especially of the Hotel Panorama which should be near Erg Chebbi?

Cheers,
Peter

I'm not aware of a hotel called Panorama in Merzouga but there is one "Hotel Panorama" in Rissani, not far from Erg Chebbi. It's close to the main market of the town.

Thanks.

I haven't heard of Hotel Panorama, but we watched the Dakar stage near Erg Chebbi in January. From Erfoud head south east towards the Desert Inn (N31 17.390 W4 05.532), then head more towards the east to intersect the route.

Hi Pete
I stayed at a hotel near erg chebbi in 2004
which was next to the dakar rally route at that time . The hotel is called Nomad Palace
if this is any interest they have a web site which you should be able to view by entering the nomad palace morocco
cheers Eric

Always glad to help. I am surprised that you found the answer so fast, since you asked some time before. But you would not really need the waypoints, this hotel is situated so spectacular on the top of the hill, you see it early when you take the asphalt road from Rissani just before you reach Merzouga.
By the way, I published a camping guide for Morocco with such information.
Have a nice trip, I will be there soon too.

Pure luck really. I was visiting the HUBB for a last check for information and wasn't even looking for this post, since I though it was not going to give more answers.
You answered just as I closed another post and to my surprise it was on top. :-)

Our group is leaving Sunday, so, Yes, lucky and happy :-)
(Do you have more information about that camping guide? Is there website?)

Cheers,
Peter
