Change from French Francs to Euros

Hi there,
Planning to travel in West Africa this Autumn/Winter and was wondering whether the recent change from French Francs to Euros will effect changing money to the West African Franc i.e. is it still worth taking French Francs as my main form of currency to change ?
Anyone who has got any info on this would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Ben Hirst

Hi Ben

I just think it's going to be a big mess as
they have never heard about € currency and
are not prepared for it. To my opinion, next
year as I plan a trip to Morocco, Mauritania
and Mali, I bring with me euros and US $ to
provide for all contingencies. Moreover, It's
very easy in big cities in Morocco to use your credit card in a cash dispenser. In Mauritania or Mali, just forget it.

Best regards

Jean-Paul

Cheers for the info guys, as I'm leaving in a couple of weeks think I'll stick to a mixture of US Dollars and French Francs, as you don't seem able to aquire Euros at the moment.
Thanks
