CB radio in Morocco

For many years it was forbidden to bring CB radios to Morocco. Now I found a message in french saying that it is possible, it just needs to fill out a form and pay 600 DH a month for one radio. Here is the link to the french website:
http://perso.orange.fr/vibraction/conseils.htm

There they give a link to the moroccan website, where we should be able to download the form. My french is not good enough to understand the website and find the form:
http://www.anrt.net.ma/fr/

Does anybody of you have new information or experience about using CB radio in Morocco?

No problems in '95, but we removed the antennas until away from the border area.

Under Moroccan law, the use of a CB radio means you're setting up a "private radio communication network". You need a license for that. No changes there.

What has changed since 2004 is the import of other pieces of two-way communication equipment, including cellphones and GPS units.

Officially, you now only need declare them at customs and you should sign an affidavit in which you guarantee that you only bring them into the country for personal use.

The affidavit can be downloaded here: http://www.anrt.net.ma/fr/admin/down...file_fr446.doc (MS Word document).

Of course, no one fills out such a form and no one in Morocco, including the authorities, will care.

CB Radios

I went thrugh the border in Apr. We removed the antennas and CBs prior to entering the border and reassembled once though. The authorities must have seen some of the antennas as they were quite long and laid across the back of the cars but they didn't bother.

A friend of mine got his CB radio confiscated in the Ceuta border in 2003. He got the CB back when we crossed the border again on the way to Spain.

CB Radio in Morocco

I was with Robin (desertwarrior above) in April and as he says, we just removed our aerials and nobody seemed to worry. Ours had a mag mount, which wasn't hidden at all and the set was still visible within the cab had anyone looked, although it was below dash level.
