Carnet for Morocco

Our carnet are goýng to run out before we get to morocco and we were wondering ýf anyone knows ýf Australian regýstered bikes can get ýn without a carnet. It is not worth our while getting another carnet as we can get home without one as the countries we will go to now do not need a carnet.

I don't know the asnswer to your question...

but...

I very much doubt you need one. I've meet people from Bulgaria and Turkey in Morocco and we had the same "issue a numbered piece of paper, number from paper goes in your passport, no exit without paper, passport & vehicle' system.

They are trying to be very encouraging to tourists and thus remove all hassles about visa's and paperwork (I travelled on a kiwi passport with a uk vehicle)

Hope thats some encouragement - email or phone an emb maybe? Or email your carnet issuer in Oz, they will have a list of countries.

Does that mean I cannot sell the vehicle in Marocco? (if I have to due to time constraints, or if the car goes belly-up)

Yes indeed. Selling a vehicle in Morocco is strictly forbidden for a non-resident, whatever the reason is. You'd better burn it than try to !

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
