here we go:
We tried it in March 2005: From Galtat Zemmour the military didn't let us go to Bir Mogrein. But they told us, the other way round it is possible!

Just for those who missed the story:
Do not try to leave RIM crossing the border at Bir Moghrein!
Last year some travellers did. No problem, until we did as well in Oktober . A polisario fraction of twelve heavy-armed men stopped us in no-mans's land, and held us for two days. They never found our Thuraya satellite phone, so we managed to make some calls. Finally we were liberated, thanks to the Mauritanian army.
The authoritys assured us that this border will stay closed, until further negotiations can guarantee a safe crossing.
So again, don't try, unless you want to look into a AK47 barrell from the wrong side!
