Bed, hot showers and beer offered on Atlantic route

Hello Overlanders,

We live practically on the road side of the Atlantic Route, +/- 20 km north of Bamako in a town called Kati. We are considering returning to Europe with our old orange land cruiser in August 2008. To share experiences and hospitality, we like to invite overlanders to our home. We offer a double bed, hot showers and cold . If any one is interested, please send us an e-mail so we can inform you if our guest's room is vacant.

What about Bohemia?

Hi, now we are ready to go to Senegal, Mali etc. Our HZJ75 is packed, but in case of problems in Mauritania we are waiting at home and searching the newest informations - do you know something about it? We will grateful to you for some real information, because the print is a little histeric and is difficult to believe it! But we will travel with our 6 years old son and can't risk. If we finally make our trip, we would like to spend one day at your house and we can offer the same to you. If you will travel around Europe, can have a brake in Czech rep., we live in Northern Bohemia in Litomerice, 45 kms from Prague, 5 minutes from motorway D8 (Prague-Dresden). I shall be happy to meet you and share travelers infos... We prefer to speak English, but German or French is possible.

Peace & love!
Libor (and Lucia)

Hello Libor,

We get the same impression about the Mauretania: the press is gone a bit histeric about it. However it is difficult to get detailled information on it even when living rather close by.

French overlanders still seem to go:
VoyageForum.com*> Destinations*> Afrique Centrale et Australe*> Mauritanie par la route: dangers?;
some travel together:
VoyageForum.com*> Rechercher*> Destinations*> Afrique Centrale et Australe*> Mauritanie*> Covoiturage

We would love to have you around in Kati (we hope you're not afraid of dogs). Please send us an e-mail or private message when actually going so we can send our phone number and address.

Have a safe journey

Det and Nol

Many thanks

We have just left Arnolds and Bernadettes house a few days ago. Sarah, myself, Johan and James would like to thank them for their excellent hospitality, help and food.
We left a few kilos heavier and well rested after a few days break at their place.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
