ATM in Mauritania now working

For all those who have previously been stranded in RIM with no cash and had to rely on Western Union, you will be pleased to know that Nouakchott now has a functioning ATM.

The Societe Generale ATM on Ave. De Gaulle has just started working in the last few days and accepts international visa cards. There is also a lovely new BNP Paribus ATM just around the corner from Soc Gen but as yet this is not working.

cheers

When I was in NKT in November last the word was the Paribas ATM was going to open on the 30th and there were lots of blokes polishing it etc.
Clearly things move fast in Mauri........!
Incidentally, Paribas did have the best rates for exchanging Euros-I got 274 to the Euro when in NDB you were doing well to get 250.
